VOZ, ZOV, VZO

Yhuri Cruz is a Brazilian visual artist and playwright, whose visual and literary practices involve the integration of collective performances and theatrical installations – a series of works he names “The emancipation plays”. Yhuri is specially interested in the global black diaspora and their available archive. Historical fiction, critical fabulation, black emancipatory fantasy, institutional criticism are themes developed in several media such as drawings, films, sculptures and performances. His works are in national and international public and private collections. In cinema, Yhuri has directed the films: O Túmulo da Terra (2020), Missão do Congado (2023) and VOZ, VOZ, VZO (2025).
