Las Cruces, New Mexico, a small town in the middle of the desert, surrounded by bars, cigarettes and addictions, is the meeting place of Violeta and Eva with their father Vicente, whom they visit every summer hoping to discover and get to know their paternal figure. Narrated in 4 different spaces of time, the spectator is witness to the decadence of Vicente (wonderfully played by Rene Perez -Residente-), but also to the affections, misunderstandings and abysses that exist between a father and his two daughters.

In the Summers is the feature debut of Colombian-American director and screenwriter Alessandra Lacorazza, who received the Grand Jury Prize and the Best Director Award at the most recent Sundance Film Festival. Here, the writer and director creates a story about transformation and the inevitable calm that comes with accepting the human complexity of family ties, building a sensitive weave of memories and recollections that fade with the passage of time, highlighting the qualities of intervals and their ephemeral power to shape identity.
