Simín quiere irse de Irán con su esposo Nader y su hija Termeh buscando mejores condiciones de vida, pero Nader no quiere alejarse de su padre enfermo. Afirmada en su idea de marcharse, Simín decide pedirle el divorcio. Aquí comienza la relación con las leyes, los jueces y juzgados que parece no terminar hasta el final de la película, acompañando una vórtice de acontecimientos que llevan a los personajes a enfrentar la idea de la verdad y su relación con la justicia y las leyes, una y otra vez.

Farhadi sabe cómo transfigurar a cinematografía los vértices de la condición humana. Nos acercamos a las angustias que enfrenta Termeh, la hija del matrimonio, que se encuentra ante una doble incertidumbre, la que es propia de su edad y la que embarga a sus padres. Así mismo, se transparentan las tensiones de clase que se viven con la mujer que llega a cuidar a su familia recién alterada, trayendo parte de la suya propia, sus creencias religiosas, su propia relación con la verdad, y las necesidades de su familia. Farhadi, a pesar de las enormes dificultades, decidió rodar A separation en Irán ofreciéndonos una mirada desde las particularidades culturales, pero al mismo tiempo, desde la cercanía de los afectos que en todas las geografías nos convocan.

Simín wants to leave Iran with her husband Nader and their daughter Termeh in search of better living conditions, but Nader does not want to leave his sick father. Confident in her idea of leaving, Simín decides to ask him for a divorce. Here begins the relationship with laws, judges and courts that seems not to end until the end of the film, accompanying a vortex of events that lead the characters to confront the idea of truth and its relationship with justice and laws, again and again.

Farhadi knows how to transfigure the vertices of the human condition into cinematography. We approach the anguish faced by Termeh, the daughter of the couple, who is confronted by a double uncertainty, the one that is typical of her age and those of her parents. Likewise, we see the class tensions experienced by the woman who arrives to care for her newly altered family, bringing part of her own, her religious beliefs, her own relationship with the truth, and the needs of her family. Farhadi, despite the enormous difficulties, decided to shoot A Separation in Iran, offering us a look from the cultural particularities, but at the same time, from the closeness of the affections that in all geographies convokes us.
