In keeping her promise, a dying mother’s daughter leaves in search for the father that she never met. At the beginning of her journey she quickly discovers that he has already died, but this does not change her plans as she is determined to find him. Swept away by the intoxicating rhythm of the Maloya, a ritual song from the island of Réunion, Cilaos explores the deep yet dense connections that tie the living with the dead. Camilo Restrepo returns to FICCI this year after having won the India Catalina Award for Best Short for Impression of a War (La impresión de una Guerra) at FICCI 56.
