I AM CINE EN LOS BARRIOS: THE LENS ON THE PEOPLE

AUDIOVISUAL FILM WORKSHOPS FOR COMMUNITIES

Handing the lens to the people means that the community will direct our gaze. We want their histories, their viewpoints, and their eyes to guide us through an audiovisual journey that searches for that which film is supposed to be: a tool for self-recognition and memory. The audiovisual workshops that are organized every year by the Festival aim to impart some of our passion for film on young people, give them new experiences through production, learn and teach, but especially to let them teach us, with their gaze and their proposals, what we are, what we are looking for and how we relate to the world so that it sees is the way we want it to.

This work is possible thanks to the work of different collectives and entities that come from various parts of the country. This year, our reach will be even wider, with seven workshops in different neighborhoods of the city of Cartagena, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Asifa Colombia, the French association Indosana Cultures en Chemin, The Tolima Film Corporation, LEM Experimental Music Lab, Full Productions, and Ciclo S.A.S.
